More Fixes v0.3.0

I’m on a roll.  :o)

I fixed the one known issue and released a new version.  I also added validation which makes the code more robust.

1) Fixed an issue where the center county (in the map) does not update the information after the first search.  This  also fixed the persistence of previous searches in the map view.

2) Validates the Zip Code and GPS coordinates and uses dialog to report any issues to the user.

Please let me know if you have any problems by visiting my blog

Enjoy!

Another bug

Yes, while I was testing the v0.2.0 release I found that the center county does not update between searches.  If you do a search and then do another it will show the center county in the list but when you go to the map it will show the first center county shown.  The only way to clear this is to terminate the program by holding down the back button for 3 seconds or terminating the program with a task manager.  I will be looking for the fix for this bug and will release it as  soon as possible.

Thanks again,

“Worst app EVER Don’t waste your time it went load”

Yes, that is one of the comments that has been posted.  Here’s another

“PIECE OF CRAP! I WOULD GIVE THIS NO STARS IF I COULD WOULDN’T EVEN OPEN! DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME!”

I think  they have a broken Caps Lock key.  🙂

This is very humbling to say the least.  I had seen this bug before and thought that it had been fixed and then I saw these comments and found that the fix had not been applied in the release.  I have applied the fix and it is available in release v0.2.0 in Google play.

The reason the program would crash is because the coordinates were being used even if the coordinates had not been detected.  This is because the phone is not configured to use the GPS and/or the  wireless network.   In the location you will see “Provider not available”.

To enable the location feature, go to “Setting” -> “Location and security”

There should be two check boxes. Check either, or, or both.

Use wireless networks

Use GPS satellites.

These are not needed to use the program and just allow the program to determine the current location for the look up.

Thank you again and please let me know if you are having any problems.

Getting Started!

Hello all and thank you for visiting my blog.

I am going to use this blog to communicate with users of the android app SAME Code Lookup.  This is my first attempt at publishing an app in the store and I found I really needed a forum to discuss any issues or questions that SAME Code Lookup users may have so that they can get the most out of my software.   If you have any suggestions on how I can improve the app please also let me know.  I am going to leave the comments open so that you will not have to log in to post and see how that works.

Thank you again!
